The secret beauty of Karterados village in Santorini is listed as a traditional settlement. The village dates back the 17th Century and is built beside a stream in a ravine. During the 1900 it was one of the largest sea captain villages along with Oia. Its main characteristics are the small traditional narrow paths and the original dwellings of that periode, mainly cave houses built deep into the rock face.

We spent 5 days to the place for working remotely. I would recommend. The house is really great, especially the outdoor area. The rooftop with the view on the sea is a must. Our host was highly available for us and very gentle. The neighbourhood is quite calm, a bit far from Fira (on foot) but there is still some great restaurants and bars around. The WiFi is OK but don't be too demanding. (4G available outside anyway)

The accommodations are lovely! Vera, the property manager made our stay wonderful! There is an uphill hike to a taxi point which might be difficult for elderly or handicap. It was good exercise for us. We were able to see everything in Santorini without the tourist crowds and stress It was wonderful to have a more authentic Greek experience. We loved it!

The house is beautiful just like the pictures. The location is a struggle for walking. No cars can go down there. The washer is not accessible without an additional fee, and it does not state that in the listing. The beds are very firm which is not quite comfortable for a long term stay. When you order food delivery you will have to walk 7 minutes to top of the street, to the Wisteria Apartments for pick up. The local restaurants are not familiar with the house you stay at.

Seize your day wondering around at the traditional settlement, walk in the small narrow paths, visit the old churches, walk to the city center Fira or rent a car and visit our beach at Exo Gialos.
